Classic ascent in Brenta group with a section uphill and downhill on track; possible abbreviation by using Grostè’s cable car. Scenic environment with wide landscapes over the Adamello-Presanella glacier, Brenta group and Val di Tovel.
Technical description
Starting from Campo Carlo Magno (1651 m), along the track, we climb up in the direction of Passo del Grostè, passing by Malga Vaglianella and Malga Vagliana (1976 m), next to the slopes of Pietra Grande. We reach Rifugio Graffer (2261 m) and, briefly, Passo del Grostè, the highest station of cable cars (2505 m). Then, we keep on towards the South, between vertical rocky walls over a nearly flat terrain, until a not too steep slope which will take us to the summit ridge. We go back to the starting point, following the same itinerary in the opposite direction. Elevation gain: 1200 m.
